Pre-Congress Offerings: Cumberland Green Bioregional Context:
Transition Initiative, Carbon Farming, and Financial Permaculture:
This Congress is set to take place amidst a regenerative foment of amazing proportions.
- Carbon Farming and Economy
An innovative course in Carbon Farming is also set to take place on The Farm before the Congress to make The Farm a model for keyline design and increase our communities’ ability to shoulder some of the carbon burden the world is stumbling under.
The Carbon Farming workshop will highlight design solutions that increase our fertility and ability to grow food while regenerating the natural world. This course will weave into our transition culture matrix and interface directly with the financial permaculture initiative by creating the real possibility of interacting on the global carbon trading market and modeling economic incentive for bioregional regeneration via sustainable land use. (August 25nd-September 16th).
The organizers of these innovative events will be taking part in the Congress and we will be hosting interested individuals and groups the entire month long project as the hustle and bustle of earth regeneration fills the hills and hollows of The Farm with the laughter and joy of our shared work and vision.
- Financial Permaculture
Just before the event, the second annual Financial Permaculture workshop will take place down the road in Hohenwald Tennessee (September 22nd-26th) bringing complimentary currency and green business design to a small southern town as our region takes strong steps towards local sustainability and freedom
Tying all these events together is the presence of Gaia University East and Gaia University International. The Carbon Farming Course, Financial Permaculture Course and Bioregional Congress will be focused content sessions for dedicated world changing pursuing action learning degree pathways through Gaia University. Gaia East will be holding an orientation just before the Congress, September 28th- October 2nd and Gaia University will offer content during the Congress’s Open Space.
